About

Union Gospel Mission is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility that is located at 3 NW 3rd Ave in Portland, Oregon. Treating substance abuse involves multiple stages of treatment through a recovery program such as that offered by Union Gospel Mission. This can include group counseling, individual counseling, outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment, and medically assisted detox, among many others. Treatment programs are based on the individual themselves and are constructed to suit each patient individually. Just as every person is unique, so should treatment programs and that is exactly what patients will receive at Union Gospel Mission.

If addicts do not obtain the right type of support and guidance, they may find treatment to be very difficult as the thought of sobriety can seem so far-fetched. At Union Gospel Mission, professional counseling and guidance are provided to all patients aged 18+, giving them the strength needed in order to obtain a life that is free of drug and alcohol addiction. By altering the patient's outlook on life through addiction treatment, they will be able to stay positive throughout the duration of rehab.

The staff members at Union Gospel Mission have a mission and that is to give patients effective and quality addiction treatment so that long-lasting sobriety can be obtained. The path to a positive future starts on a positive foot and that begins at Union Gospel Mission. Confronting addiction is a difficult thing to do, but it is the most important step in the recovery process. Through professional counseling during the patient's time in treatment, patients will learn coping skills and trigger management which is imperative to the success of maintaining sobriety.

Maintaining sobriety on one's own is extremely difficult, especially when the addict has tried to go 'cold turkey' on their own. This is because it requires medically-assisted detox in order to properly and safely wean the body off of the substance of abuse. This way the body does not go through sudden withdrawal nor experience harsh side effects. Union Gospel Mission can provide patients with all of the necessary tools, treatments, and resources so that patients have every opportunity to succeed in recovery.

Getting treatment is the best option when seeking a life that is free of substance abuse. Get the help required now and start living the best life possible. Contact Union Gospel Mission by visiting ugmportland.org now.

What is surprising is how just a little bit of money can feed and protect a great number of people. I encourage you to check out their webpage where they show you the difference the cost of a couple bags of chips makes to the starving and homeless. Even if you sign up for just a little amount, it will mean being warm and fed to those who are walked by, every day, and treated as invisible. Whenever I think of giving, I always imagine the doors being opened to people who have given up hope of finding shelter and food. A direct opportunity to help those in the most desperate of circumstances. God be with you, Union Gospel Mission; you do God's work among the poor. Q.E.D. "Each Day I'll Try To Do His Will And Let My Light So Shine, That Others Seeing It May Seek A Greater Light Divine." From When He Comes Again "For Whatsoever You Do To The Least Of These, You Do To Me." Christ

A place to give where even a little amount helps the poor. On their website, they show you how a tiny amount can mean food for the hungry. If, as a philosopher, you asked me what the purpose of life is, I would reply thus: To protect the helpless and to lessen suffering. Here is a great opportunity to give both food and to restore Faith to those without hope. Sometimes, to give itself is an act of Faith, I can tell you this: the more I give, the more God returns to me in blessings, both financial and spiritual. Goodness returns upon its performer as surely as does evil. The purest and simplest act of Goodness is to return, to God, what you have been given. In your gift, they shall know that they are neither forgotten nor abandoned. Through our great spiritual night, but a small bit of God's great Light may Shine through us upon others. God Be With You. Q.E.D. Jesus said to Zacharius, "One thing more, give all that you have to the poor and follow me." Zacharius turned away and wept for he was a rich man. Jesus said,"Verily I say unto you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle then for a rich man to enter the Kingdom Of Heaven. A man cannot serve two masters, for either he will love the one and hate the other. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. A man cannot serve God and mammon." Christ "To him whom much is given, much shall be expected." Luke 12:36

Whenever I think about giving, I always think of some half-frozen suffering person, bent over half-starved convinced that nobody cares for them. Angels are not just in Heaven, you can be an angel to these people. Walked by people all day long, treated as invisible, you can raise them back to their feet. Anyone can speak Goodness, here is your chance to perform Goodness. Restore their Faith both in God and in other human beings. A little or a lot, every single penny lessens suffering. When you think of that luxury, instead, think of these suffering ones. Life's short day ends quickly, they are you and you are them: we are one. Be an angel, bend down and lift them back to their feet. Reflect the Light, My Friends. Q.E.D. "And When That Blessed Day Is Here, He'll Love Me And He'll Say, 'You Served Me Well, My Little Child, Come Unto My Arms To Stay.'" From When He Comes Again

The people on our streets need help which does not cost much to give them a hot meal every once in awhile. Please be generous and help as much as possible because if things went the wrong way in our own life we could be in the same food line.
